I agree, we should seek our Father(Yahweh) for our specific style of seeking Him. Now as every serious believer would agree, that it is prayer and knowledge of His Glorious Word and a heart that truly seeks after His face is what developes our intimacy with Him! We just make it too complicated and we have so many avenues to learn about Him that we tend to get away from the simplicity of knowing Him. If we would just read the Word(Bible), enter into prayer with thanksgiving(worship), instead of right away with our petitions and then pray with a deep longing(sincere heart) to know Him and then bring our petitions to Him believing that He will hear and answer our prayers then thats when things will change. We have to many seminars on how to be a better you and how to be an overcomer and to many basically self help books on how to be a better christian and how to connect with God, that we lose sight of how to really connect with Him. Jesus's disciples never went to these seminars or read this type of literature, instead Jesus showed them and taught them on how to connect with our Father. If Jesus is still with us thru the Holy Spirit then why should we change from His methods to
our methods of developing intimacy. I've learned this by just getting tired of having an experience on sundays with the Holy Spirit and the rest of the week is defeat and distance from Him. I've learned how to experience Him whenever I want. Like you i've learned that it is our own experience and way of seeking Him that works and i've learned it by seeking Him and that alone!

Too many times we become a respector of persons and tend to let people influence our decisions because of who they are. I find personaly that i would rather stick pins in my eyes rather than correct a family member, friend or close confidant. We should let the Word of God
determine our decisions other than these
types of people.
